Computer generated visualisation enables an accurate representation of your ideas to be created at the first stages of the design process, useful in many ways:
allows you to test your ideas quickly, so that you are more confident that you are getting the building that you have in mind
allows areas and surfaces to be calculated easily so that cost studies can be accurate
allows buildings to be placed on the topographic relief of the site, so that excavation costs can be estimated more easily, and landscaping around a building (often overlooked) can be brought into the discussion at an early stage
Allows a sun path study to be carried out, to determine any particular needs for solar shadingaround window openings.
We use a programme called Sketchup which is versatile in its ability to generate models from sketch-scheme stage through to highly accurate photographic quality rendered views. Animated fly-throughs will enable you to inhabit a space and give you an insight into the way a building feels as you move around it. All of these techniques are helpful to make sure that you are completely in tune with the projected end result, and to inform decisions on the way.
